This former department store is a grade II listed building with attached verandah that offers potential for residential conversion in part. it is a large building with extensions and the plan extending to Stanley Street.

A pre-app was submitted 2022 for development retaining commercial uses to ground floor and conversion of the available 1st and 2nd floors for up to 20 housing units with small aparthotel.  This proposal could be acceptable subject to meeting policy requirements and clear justifications for deviation from policy.  We would recommend early discussions with Planning Department.  Retention of the facade would be important in this significant building.

The amount of available or unused space is unknown.

NOTE: The owners have not brought this building forward for the Lord Street Living Scheme but it has been identified as having potential for upper floor conversion.
